Course description

Aims of the course: Introduce participants to the Portuguese language and culture; develop Portuguese language communication skills at level A1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Course programme

1. Portuguese phonetics;
2. Topics: Portuguese culture, health, meals, city, shops and public places;
3. Grammatical structures: present , past and future tenses of regular and irregular verbs; modal verbs; feminine and plural nouns; personal and demonstrative pronouns; adverbs of place; adverbs of frequency; prepositions of time; prepositions of movement.

Speaker/trainer

Mónica Castro is a native Portuguese language teacher who holds a degree in Portuguese Studies from the University of
Porto. Along her professional career she has taught Portuguese mainly at higher education institutions and professional
schools in Portugal, but also at a school in Angola, where she held the positions of teacher trainer and pedagogical director.
She started working at ISMAI in 2015, where she currently teaches Portuguese to speakers of other languages in the scope
of the bachelor’s degree in Tourism.

Before 31 March: 265 € 

After 1 April: 300€
