​Gustavo Silva is Licentiate in Physical Education (2001) and Master’s in Human Movement Sciences (2005) by the School of Physical Education of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (ESEFID-UFRGS, Brazil). He got a PhD degree in Physical Activity and Health (2012) by the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto (FADE-UP, Portugal), followed by two post-doctorate research fellowships (2013-2015) in the Research Center of Physical Activity, Health and Leisure (CIAFEL) of the same faculty.


Today, he is an assistant professor in the University Institute of Maia (ISMAI) and an integrated researcher in the Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD). Gustavo Silva is author of several research papers and collaborates as a reviewer for major scientific journals. He is an enthusiastic on research methods and statistics.

His research interests are: Measurements of Physical Activity; Physical Fitness; Motor Development; Cardiovascular Health Epidemiology.
